After working in secrecy for eight years, a Sunnyvale startup vaulted onto center stage in the cleantech revolution Wednesday by unveiling the Bloom Box, a fuel-cell technology that would allow homes and businesses to generate their own electricity. So intense is the interest in the low-emission, power-producing technology that the company has already raised $400 million from investors.
