Angel Investors Sound Alarm on JOBS Act Rules

Tech Coast Angels, a Southern California group that invests in startup companies, is concerned that new securities rules could make it tougher for investors to fund early stage firms. Aimed at boosting the economy, the Jump-start Our Business Startups law relaxed some securities regulations regarding fundraising by private companies. But Tech Coast Angels thinks rules for implementing parts of the 2012 JOBS Act — aimed at protecting average consumers — will discourage wealthy, sophisticated investors from backing very young outfits.

Las Vegas 'Old Down Town' Becomes Zappos Tech Center

Just hours before hundreds of Zappos workers pour into the company’s new headquarters in 'old downtown' Las Vegas, Adam Ward was still fitting bricks into place in the lobby. The first 200 or so workers are slated to move in Monday. The building will accommodate as many as 2,000. In the case of Zappos the lifestyle, which is covered in great detail in Hsieh’s book, “Delivering Happiness,” aims to be irreverent and fun.
