CEOs Say Investing in Innovation Is Not Paying Off

By now it is almost gospel that investing in innovative new products and services helps a company’s long-term success. That doesn’t mean it’s easy. A new study from Accenture, “Why ‘Low Risk’ Innovation Is Costly,” found that fewer than one in five chief executives believes his strategic investments in innovation are paying off, and that this poor track record is starting to discourage companies from taking risks.

St. Louis Moves to the Front in Tech-job Growth

Some people in technology hotbeds such as Silicon Valley, Seattle or northern Virginia must be scratching their heads about what’s going on in St. Louis. Granted, the tech industry here is tiny by comparison, but St. Louis is starting to show up in statistics as a growth market. Dice.com, a technology recruiting site, says its listings are growing faster in St. Louis than in any large city in the country.
